Travelport is ramping up not only the international presence of its Australian corporate travel platformLocomote but also its newly formed Digital division.
As part of its expansion plans, it has appointed Vikki Mills as its director of sales and support UK. Mills’ experience includes other travel tech providers such as Comtec, Open Destinations and Vibe.
Locomote, or Travelport Locomote as it is now known, is 55% owned by Travelport which initially took a 49% stake in the business in 2014. The amount paid for the stakes is not known.
These two businesses are now part of Travelport Digital, a new business unit announced earlier this month “to optimise the investments that Travelport has made into various digital assets and products over the past couple of years.”
And as an early sign, perhaps, of how this optimisation will pan out is plans for Locomote to use MTT’s expertise to enhance the self-serve options available to corporate travellers.
