Corporate travel is good for business. A recent study of North American business travellers found that for every dollar invested in travel, businesses benefit by an average of US$9.50 (A$13.55) in increased revenue and US$2.90 (A$4.15) in new profits. The study was conducted by Virgin Atlantic and if you apply the Weapons of Mass Destruction principle – you only present evidence favourable to the outcome you want to achieve – this is potent ammunition for your next travel request.
Among other surprises from the same report, business travellers enjoy time at the airport, ignore jet lag and even network at 35,000 feet. Half the business travellers surveyed arrive at the airport more than an hour early to maximise their time in the business class lounge. One in four said they get their best ideas when travelling, and one in five said they’ve done business with someone they met on a flight.
But even if a dollar spent on business travel delivers an almost tenfold benefit, it’s not as if everyone has lots of cash to splash. So what can you do to drive your travel dollar that little bit further? To find out and read how Locomote can help make business travel easier, click here.
