Melbourne Victory Football Club proudly supported the Cancer Council Victoria with an All Stars v Victory Fans ‘Victory Against Cancer’ football match that was held at AAMI Park as a curtain-raiser to the blockbuster Hyundai A-League clash between Melbourne Victory and Adelaide United on February 19 2016 at AAMI Park.
Celebrity sports stars, media personalities, politicians and Melbourne Victory members took part all in the name of charity for Cancer Council Victoria. The game, which ended in a 3-2 win to the Victory Fans and declaring the Fans winners 2 years in a row, was initiated to create awareness and raise money for Cancer Council Victoria.
This year close to $30,000 was raised in support of the Cancer Council Victoria of which Locomote's Co-Founder and Chief Design Officier, David Fastuca raised the highest amount for the Victory Fans by personally matching each dollar donated.
"Everyday 30 people lose their lives to Cancer and if I have made some difference then I achieved my goal" Fastuca said.
